How I File My Coupons:

 

Normally I buy 4 newspapers each Sunday.  In some areas coupons will also be in the Saturday edition.  (Before you purchase papers check to make sure coupon inserts are there.)  Then romove all inserts and file.

 

To file coupons I use a plastic milk crate with hanging file folders.  Label each Sunday with that weeks date.  A black sharpie shows up best.  Put the newest folder in the front and follow suit next week.  I keep my coupons for 9 – 12 months, putting the newest ones in the front.  When I run out of folders I take the back one out, throw the coupons away (coupons vary as to the expiration time but normally will expire before 9 months) and use that folder for the newest weeks coupons.  Just change your label. 

 

With this method you do not spend LOTS of time clipping every coupon.  When I post a deal I will tell you  the coupon to use and the location.  Example:  $1.00 off Jergens lotion, Smart Source, 4/21/13.
